The holy grail for chain lubrication has been hot-melt waxed chains for years, but for most cyclists the effort is daunting. Take off the chain, clean, rinse, immerse into a melted wax, break up the waxed links, and re-install the chain. Whew! It's not hard, just a lot of steps!

CUBE's special blend of wax and oil allows for easy dispersion onto the chain. We found that this special blend offers excellent performance when you add a little heat! It is similar to using an iron and melting the wax into your skis versus just rubbing the wax on.
The addition of a mini-heat gun lets you rapidly liquify CUBE so it flows fully into the plates and rollers for excellent penetration, and quickly hardens to a smooth, dirt resistant shield --all without removing your chain!
So, why not just rub any old block of wax on the chain, and put some heat on it? You certainly can, but it won't be as effective. CUBE was formulated from the start to be a rub-on, so the soft-block means you quickly get more wax onto the chain, while CUBE's formulation delivers excellent all-round performance!
While paraffin wax is sourced from petroleum or natural gas, it actually has little oil in it as a % in final form. This is why you may see oxidation even on a waxed chain in a short time.
CUBE already has a lot of natural oil in the blend, so pressure on the chain "squeezes" the oil into the chain plates and rollers. It is also why we ship in a plastic bag, so it does not weep onto cloth items, your saddle bag, etc.
With the CUBE HOT MELT SYSTEM, all you need to do is apply CUBE, melt, ride!
Without heat we direct application to only the inside of the chain, as the pressure from the the cassette and crank teeth are pushing the lubricant into the chain. When using the Hot Melt System, we recommend application on both inside and outside of the chain to get full penetration as the wax based lubricants melt into the plates and rollers from both sides.
If you have previously applied a full immersion base wax to your chain, such as SIMPLYFAST for bike, after cleaning, application of CUBE plus heat reactivates the old wax, and your chain runs with silky smoothness again, with minimal effort and time!

IMPORTANT: use proper safety equipment. To be applied only by adults. Follow all directions including wearing cotton or leather gloves and eye protection. Bicycle should be securely supported in a work stand or similar to prevent bike from moving during application. Heat gun produces a small area of high heat, capable of damaging frame / components. User is responsible for the operation of the heat element which requires careful application.
